Print On Demand Program
An exciting packaging project for Empirix, Inc., a software and services company
based in Bedford MA, came from a design studio familiar with our work. This was a comprehensive venture requiring a combination of box manufacture, offset printing of the manual covers and on-demand DocuTech printing of all internal text pages.
We printed and then warehoused the boxes, shipping them as needed to the client. Our assignment was first to print a year’s supply of two different sized software boxes and warehouse them in our facility for shipment to the client as ordered on an as needed basis. Covers were offset-produced as shells and imprinted on an on-demand basis.
The client ordered manuals electronically and placed the new updated PDF files onto a secure location and in two days, finished manuals were delivered. With pricing
pre-arranged, prompt customer service and a turnkey system in place, this type of program operates very efficiently.
The client design studio helped their client achieve even greater cost efficiencies by developing a new print-on-demand CD program. Ferrante & Associates responded by producing all of the new packaging and materials on-demand.
