Calendar and Fulfillment Program
This project was a production challenge for Hologic, a medical imaging company. Each year, Hologic produces a much-anticipated gift to customers and associates, a piece designed to be printed both as a calendar and as a limited edition framed work of art.
Early in the process, Ferrante & Associates, Inc. was consulted to assist the client’s creative team and
in-house coordinator with input on optimum production. Together we helped build cost efficiencies into the print and fulfillment execution, first planning out a press structure that would accommodate not only the calendar and art print, but a calendar “story” and trade show handout as well. Then we printed the job and completed a complex fulfillment program with a number of timed elements spread over a period of weeks. Some calendars were inserted into tubes, some mailed flat, others in boxes. The art piece sections were extracted from the larger calendars, framed and prepared for distribution as gifts.
By working together as a team, evaluating the project prior to production and printing four types of pieces together, we leveraged the capacity of the press equipment, and maximized the cost effectiveness of this project for Hologic. In fact, the entire project came in on budget, as the client had hoped.
